Advancing people-centered care: CHCF aims to ensure people receive responsive, comprehensive, and coordinated services that support their health and well-being. This work includes projects in the following areas: 1) improving mental health and substance use treatment so that care is effective, appropriate, and accessible. 2) helping medi-cal enrollees with challenging health or social circumstances get high-quality medical care and supportive services. 3) improving care quality and outcomes for black californians by reducing documented disparities through data, partnerships, and quality improvement.

This work includes projects in the following areas: 1) ensuring that all californians with low incomes have affordable coverage. 2) improving access to high-quality primary care that meets patients' language and cultural needs. 3) addressing major shortages in california's health workforce.

Laying the foundation: CHCF aims to provide research, timely information, training, and networks. This work includes projects in the following areas: 1) providing timely research and analysis on health care in california. 2) supporting high quality health care journalism. 3) supporting leadership and skill-building for california's health care professionals and state policymakers. 4) supporting efforts to help safety-net organizations adopt innovative technologies.

Across our three primary goals, CHCF also uses a variety of tools to increase the impact our grant making. 1) convening: we bring stakeholders together to find solutions, spread knowledge, and create the impetus for change. 2) research: we create a data and policy analysis agenda that helps decisionmakers make informed choices. 3) engagement: we produce and disseminate informational content and cultivate networks to help california address health care problems and find solutions.
