In November 2024, our Community Resource Center (CRC) answered the call by organizing two impactful Thanksgiving events for families in Boyle Heights. The first event was a powerful collaboration with Distrito Catorce and the local Chamber of Commerce, where CRC volunteers distributed 100 turkeys and 100 bags filled with Thanksgiving-themed food items. With the help of local council members, who canvassed the neighborhood to identify families most in need, the event ensured that many households could enjoy a holiday meal.In the second event, we proudly joined the Weingart East LA YMCA at Mariachi Plaza for the 10th Annual Turkey Giveaway. More than 500 community members received an Adventist Health grocery bag packed with a turkey and all the trimmings. Associates from the CRC, Foundation, and leadership including Operations Executive Mara Bryantvolunteered at the event, sharing gratitude and reaffirming our commitment to community involvement, particularly during the holidays. We are honored to be a part of this vibrant community and will continue to show up with compassion, resources, and care during the holidays and all year long.Websites for our community benefit information: https://www.adventisthealth.org/about-us/community-benefit/
