Youth development - early care and education:the burbank y is a leader in providing licensed, national association for the education of young children (naeyc) accredited early care and education (ece) programs. Our ece programs serve up to 230 young children daily in our infant, toddler, and preschool programs. The programs use a play-based approach that enables children to learn as they play, develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. We are dedicated to serving children diagnosed with neurodivergent disorders. Our teachers work with parents to detect the early signs of possible neurodivergent disorders in preschool age children and, when indicated, encourage families to seek advice and evaluation from their pediatrician or regional center. Our ece programs offer low teacher-child ratios and certified and master's level teachers. Lesson plans are used that maximize cognitive and social-emotional development to support the successful integration of children diagnosed with neurodivergent disorders into the program's general population.

Youth development - learn, grow, thrive, academic, summer program and power scholar explorers afterschool program:the burbank y provides learn, grow, thrive (LGT) and power scholar explorers (pse) afterschool, two innovative literacy, mathematics, and enrichment programs. Taught by credentialed teachers and their assistants, the programs use curriculums developed by bellxcel, an industry leader in creating premier academic youth learning programs.both programs recognize student self-confidence and self-esteem which play a significant role in their learning, well-being, and overall happiness. The program focuses on the whole child concentrating on social-emotional learning (sel) and developing curriculums around student's interests and strengths. As children gain confidence in their abilities and self-concept, they also show significant gains in mathematics and literacy skills. Children who participate in LGT for six weeks gain an average of 10-12 weeks in mathematics and literacy skills.

Whether a young person is interested in sports, politics, or is a member of the lgbtqia+ community, our youth development programs help young people gain confidence, foster self-acceptance, and support their mental health and well-being.youth & government (y & g) is an experiential learning program that provides a platform for personal growth and program empowers high school students to develop essential skills. Students delve into the intricacies of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, explore the policy process, and analyze current issues. This hands-on approach allows them to actively participate and voice their opinions, honing their leadership, public speaking, and debating skills. Throughout their journey, students discover their passions and strengths. The program provides a supportive environment that fosters self-discovery, enabling students to embrace their unique talents and interests.social impact center (the center) plays a vital role in providing services to lgbtqia+ youth, fostering their mental health and well-being, self-acceptance, and reducing the risk of homelessness. By offering a wide range of inclusive programs and services, the center creates a safe and affirming space where lgbtqia+ youth can be themselves unapologetically. In 2022, the center hosted burbank's first pride prom, a once in a lifetime experience for lgbtqia+ middle and high school students who were able to experience a prom that not only allowed them to be themselves but celebrated them. The center is also the home to our lgbtqia+ summer camp. Camp kaleidoscope is an 11-week program offering activities, workshops and field trips to renowned studios and educational centers. The center serves as a catalyst for positive change, creating a brighter future for the lgbtqia+ youth in our community.showcase basketball is a youth sports program dedicated to fostering confidence, leadership, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Our professional coaches and former professional athletes are passionate about helping children and young adults of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential. We believe that the lessons learned through sports extend far beyond the athletic field. The program focuses on long-term growth over short-term gratification and encourages effort, attitude, character, and teamwork.

The burbank y is affordable, accessible, and inclusive, made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income, or background, can live life to its fullest. We serve over 12,000 people of all ages, abilities, races, nationalities, and religions and provide financial assistance to those who need it.rock steady boxing is one of our newest programs, started in 2022, and offers a powerful solution for adults living with parkinson's disease (PD). This noncontact exercise program, led by certified coaches, is designed to improve core strength, balance, range of movement, and cognitive skills in PD patients. Rock steady boxing provides an evidenced based approach that decreases symptoms and enhances the quality of life for those with PD. By engaging the body and mind in various activities, overall physical and cognitive abilities improve and through regular participation, individuals experience a decrease in symptoms and an improvement in their quality of life. Doc talk is a health information speaker-series designed to educate community members. Led by physicians, this program covers a diverse range of medical topics, including preventive care, chronic disease management, mental health, nutrition, fitness, and is offered through a partnership with providence saint joseph medical center. Each session serves as a platform for interactive discussions, enabling community members to ask questions, exchange ideas and engage in meaningful conversations. The program is offered monthly and is open to the public.
