Federally funded programs:- u.s. Department of education funding supports a variety of projects benefiting sacramento state students including the college assistance migrant program (camp) which is designed to encourage the children of migrant farm workers to attend university; the institutional networks for (student) success (peer) programs and instructional redesign efforts (inspire) project which seeks to increase the number of graduates from underrepresented groups; the comprometids program which aims to increase the number of culturally and linguistically competent teachers by creating a clear and coordinated path to recruit, support, and advance latinx and bilingual teachers, and the asian american native american pacific islander (aanapisi) funding which funds assistance and services to students and low income individuals.- national science foundation funding supports technology and scientific related research and educational projects. For example, the "cybercorps scholarship for service (SFS)" grant which supports the development of a cybersecurity workforce at sacramento state, the "building capacity: STEM faculty professional learning in the zone of proximal development program" which supports the efforts to improve the teaching effectiveness of STEM faculty, and the "louis stokes STEM pathways and research alliance program" which aims to increase the number of underrepresented minority students graduating with degrees in STEM, and to contribute to scholarly research in broadening participation in STEM.- funding from the environmental protection agency supports the operations of the region 9 environmental finance center (efc) at sacramento state. The efc is operated by sac state's office of water programs with the goal of providing environmental services to region 9 communities.- grants from the national institute of general medical sciences support basic research, including research on anti-HIV microbicide agents, and research training activities for students from groups underrepresented in the biomedical sciences.- a collaboration with the u.s. Geological survey to develop summaries of oil and gas well logs from publicly available well logs to assist in the development of conceptual models of hydrogeologic systems and identify the potential location of transport pathways.state & locally funded programs:- funding provided for the employment of students within state agencies and local governments for the purpose of furthering the students' area of study and providing them with valuable on-the-job training.- contract services provided by sacramento state faculty to the state of california and local government agencies such as assessment surveys and studies, appliance testing, and professional development for school teachers.- in collaboration with the state water resources control board, the office of water programs provides technical, management, and financial services to small disadvantaged communities in california to retrofit or replace a drinking water system.other externally funded programs:- university enterprises, INC's program services benefits more than 33,300 faculty, staff, and students of sacramento state as well as the general populace.- develop and implement programs and publish training materials for operators of water treatment plants, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and reclamation facilities.- the institute for social research receive state of california, local government, and non-profit funding for customized projects including community listening sessions, technical support, program/policy evaluation, and survey research services.- the population research center provides research services including project development, data collection, and data analysis to state and local government entities.- the title IV-e stipend program prepares both MSW and BSW students for social work careers in public child welfare services and offers stipends and reimbursement support for tuition, fees, and books.
