The organization was formed in 2023 as a supporting organization of the community builders, INC.(TCB), a massachusetts nonprofit corporation doing business in illinois as TCB illinois NFP, INC., and an organization recognized as exempt under section 501(c)(3 ); maafa redemption project, INC. (maafa), an illinois not-for-profit corporation that is an organization described in section 501(c)(3); and the garfield park rite to wellness collaborative (gprwc), an illinois not-for-profit corporation that is an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Collectively TCB, maafa, and gpwrc shall be referred to as sponsors. The primary exempt purpose is to build or develop real estate that will provide supportive services to low-income residents in the west garfield park community of chicago to address issues of disinvestment and inequality.
