We support the carolina cyber network's mission to better prepare students for careers in cybersecurity and strengthen the security of organizations across north carolina. Our services include managing and supporting a security operations center (soc) environment, where over 200 students from more than 10 NC institutions have gained hands-on experience through simulated exercises and real-world cybersecurity projects. We have passively scanned and assessed the cybersecurity posture of over 1,000 organizations across the state and have delivered cybersecurity awareness sessions to more than 75 small and mid-sized businesses (SMBS) and municipalities. We assist in identifying and securing internship opportunities by building partnerships with industry and government, and have helped develop a mentorship program that connects students with experienced cybersecurity professionals.

City of refuge: in partnership with city of refuge, we delivered a cybersecurity training program to 30 students across two cohorts. Our team provided curriculum and hands-on training designed to equip participants with foundational cybersecurity knowledge and job-ready skills. City of refuge, known for its holistic approach to serving individuals and families in crisis, integrated this program into its broader mission of community revitalizationoffering resources such as housing, healthcare, job training, and youth development. This initiative helped participants take meaningful steps toward stable, high-demand careers in cybersecurity.

Workforce development (dogwood health trust): through support from the dogwood health trust, the carolina cyber center trained 13 students in 2024 across two cohorts and overall over 30 students since its inception. This program focuses on preparing participants for careers in cybersecurity through industry-recognized certifications and hands-on experience. Many students received stipends and wraparound support services, allowing them to focus fully on their training. The initiative aimed to remove barriers to education and create pathways to high-demand, high-wage cybersecurity roles in the region.
