Cedars sinai health ventures is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.CSHV's program services include the following activities:1) research companies, organizations and entities working on new medical technologies that are aimed at improving the provision of healthcare services by facilities such as CSMC;2) provide funding to companies, organizations and entities working on new medical technologies that CSHV believes will improve or otherwise assist in CSMC's charitable activities, including the provision of healthcare services;(continued on schedule o)(continued)3) evaluate the potential for further development of the technologies and discoveries made by such companies, organizations or entities into products and services that could have a positive impact on illness or disease, unmet health needs, or healthcare delivery;4) support further development of the technology to create the potential for it to become a product or service benefiting the community as a whole;5) develop and maintain a network of researchers and technology professionals in academic institutions and industry that can collaborate to support early-stage discoveries made through the companies, organizations and entities CSHV has made investments in;6) invest in and advise early-stage companies aimed at the manufacturing, production or sale of new medical technologies that CSHV believes will improve or otherwise assist in CSMC's charitable activities, including the provision of healthcare services; and7) manage the relationships with the companies, organizations and entities in CSHV's investment portfolio.
