We are, and continue to be, overwhelmed by DR. Yeo's teams dedication to their patients, their focus on improving their patients quality of life, and their commitment to finding a cure to pancreatic cancer. TCG gives has partnered with DR. Yeo's team and jefferson's sidney kimmel cancer center that we may advance treatment options for those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This initiative seeks to identify biomarkers in early stage tumors, which can in turn inform tumor-specific treatment and potentially predict drug response and disease recurrence. Biomarker testing is not covered under insurance and relies completely on donations from organizations like TCG gives. This research will advance pancreatic cancer treatment and improve survival rates, ultimately providing the biggest gift to those faced with pancreatic cancer: hope. Jefferson has the top pancreatic surgical and research team in the country, led by DR. Charles yeo. TCG gives proceeds will go directly to DR. Yeo's molecular profiling initiative. One of the goals of jeffersons' research is to profile each patient's tumor. As described by DR. Yeo. "by profiling each patient's tumor, we can better target their specific cancer. This is the direction of modern, personalized oncologic care, not to mention advances our research". There is limited funding from NIH and the american cancer society and therefor jefferson's research team relies on philanthropy to continue to create forward movement in treating this disease.
