CPI focused on recruitment and performance of the clean energy workforce. Working in partnership with community-based organizations, public schools, the military, training institutions, and local workforce councils, CPI launched a six-state, six-month campaign attracting over 1000 new wind turbine technician candidates. To ensure high safety and quality standards across the industry, CPI developed the certified clean energy professional program the first-ever industry-wide certification for clean energy technicians. CPI has also begun working with community colleges to create stackable microcredentials and online modules to smooth onramps to renewable energy careers.CPI also supported work to build partnerships among nonprofits and local stakeholder groups to build support for clean energy. This work included public events spotlighting clean energy jobs and new manufacturing facilities. In addition, CPI supported efforts to create fact sheets and share information about clean energy projects in local communities across the country.
