The heartlands started 2024 with 6 residents in assisted living, 0 residents in memory care and 14 residents in 10 independent living villas. By the end of 2024, the heartlands more than tripled occupancy in the main building, ending the year with 15 residents in assisted living and 9 residents in memory care. The independent living villas ended 2024 at a 75% occupancy rate with 21 residents living in 15 villas.the heartlands offered numerous free educational and fitness opportunities to not only our residents, but residents from neighboring counties. These events have positioned the heartlands as a well-known, positive common ground for senior citizens in the area to get active and learn more about the different stages and phases of life they may be experiencing. On top of the free educational programs, the heartlands community center space was used for multiple birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, family reunions and more. The total number of events held in the space for 2024 was 108, which is five times as many as the amount that was held in 2023.the team at the heartlands attended community events in huron, tuscola, and sanilac counties.
