Grantmaking to public charities: Grants made to IRS recognized public charities across the United States. Donor advised funds and ACF's unrestricted funds are the principal sources of grantmaking activity. Grants are made to organizations qualifying under 501(c)(3) and focus on one or more of the following recognized exempt purposes: Assistance for those in need; support for youth and families; civil and human rights; education; health and scientific research; arts, culture and the humanities; civic and community affairs; and environmental preservation. Fiscally sponsored projects: These are engaged in furtherance of the mission through the following ways: social change, democracy, economic equality, and climate & sustainability.
