The amateur golf alliance was founded to promote the amateur game at the highest level of competition, to support amateurs, conduct research & advocacy, and to support other initiatives & organizations that benefit the game of golf at large. The amateur golf alliance conducts the concession cup and the women's amateur championship to grow interest in the game. Contributions were made to 10 different organizations in accordance with the amateur status rules of the united states golf association.
