Physician associates of southwest dallas (PASD) is a wholly controlled affiliate of methodist hospitals of dallas (MHD) whose purpose is to teach and aid in the education of graduate medical education students (residents) of MHD. PASD employs physician instructors and bills for the patient services provided as part of the teaching mission of the organization. Net income derived from the patient services is used to support the graduate medical education program of MHD. With the aid of PASD, methodist hospitals of dallas is able to train approximately 105 residents annually.
