Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas ("THD") is an 875-licensed bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission providing care to the residents of Dallas and surrounding communities since 1966. It has held Magnet status for nearly two decades, is a Level I Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Heart Attack Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. A renovation to the Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants at THD was completed in 2023, and the facility holds a Level IV Comprehensive Care Maternal Designation and Level III NICU. Key service lines include behavioral health, cancer care, digestive health, emergency care, heart & vascular care, ECMO, neurosciences, orthopedics, sports medicine and women & infant's care. THD is part of a Joint Operating Company with University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center ("UTSW") whereby the organizations collaborate on service line strategies and physician recruitment, as well as best practices in patient safety, quality and experience. Texas Health Dallas has more than 3,000 employees and more than 1,600 physicians practicing on its medical staff. THD had 141,268 patient days, 28,394 discharges, 4,399 births, 110,415 outpatient encounter, and 68,184 outpatient emergency room visits during the calendar year. THD provides quality medical healthcare regardless of a patient's race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay. The hospital provides care to persons covered by governmental programs including Medicare and Medicaid for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to both financially indigent and medically indigent patients. To the extent reimbursement for services is below cost, THD recognizes the difference as charity care.
