The organization sponsors 25 amateur sporting and recognition events in louisiana and around the greater new orleans metropolitan area. To promote amateur sports in the area, the sugar bowl supported state and local associations for volleyball, golf, regatta, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, and basketball. In addition, the organization sponsors the manning award, the eddie robinson coach of the year award, the new orleans sports hall of fame, and the national football foundation. The organization hosted the first ever sugar bowl country kickoff on september 2, 2023 in the caesars superdome. This concert was headlined by country music superstar garth brooks, and it also featured louisiana's own lainey wilson, among other country music artists.
