The corporation has been formed exclusively for charitable purposes. Among these purposes, in anticipation of natural or man-made disasters, the corporation will collect contributions from cooperative businesses, employees of cooperative businesses, individual directors of cooperative boards of directors, and members of cooperative businesses (largely within the electrical cooperative program), in order to distribute relief funds to individuals (directly or through similar funds administered by similar cooperative organizations) closely associated with the electric cooperative program who have suffered catastrophic loss due to such disasters.
