This event was expanded to newborns and toddlers to promote learning in early childhood as part of the excel by 5 community initiative. Educational topics included nutrition, dental, physical activity, bullying, handwashing, tobacco prevention, home safety, immunizations, and car seat safety. The annual event resulted in over 434 children and adults that participated. Information includes car seat safety, nutrition, wellness, baby care, preadmissions, lactation specialist, and WIC. As part of the efforts to improve maternal outcomes, the university of mississippi medical center's center for telehealth maternal remote patient monitoring program participated in the baby fair along with the mississippi department of health's healthy moms/healthy babies program. Physician experts and other health care professionals were also present to answer questions. Baby items are provided to all participants.
