SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY / AQUATIC PROGRAM - In 2024, the Barren County Family YMCA continued its commitment to water safety and community health through a wide range of aquatic programs. The YMCA provided American Red Cross-certified swim instruction, lifeguard training, and CPR/First Aid certifications to participants of all ages, from infants to seniors. Through partnerships with local schools, over 1,200 youth received free swim lessons and water safety education this year. The YMCA pool also served more than 100 community groups, schools, and churches, providing thousands of dollars in free and low-cost access. Aquatic fitness classes and family swim programs promote physical health, mental well-being, and social connection, reinforcing the Y's mission to serve the community through programs that build confidence, foster safety, and cultivate lifelong wellness.

HEALTHY LIVING / MEMBERSHIP - In 2024, the Barren County Family YMCA continued its commitment to strengthening community health and well-being through inclusive membership and wellness opportunities. The YMCA offered programs that encouraged active lifestyles, fostered social connections, and promoted mental and physical well-being for individuals of all ages. More than 6,500 individuals participated in YMCA membership and wellness programs throughout the year. Guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, the Y remains a welcoming place for everyone, ensuring that financial limitations never prevent participation in programs that build healthier lives and stronger communities.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT / CHILD CARE / SUMMER DAY CAMP / AFTER SCHOOL - In 2024, the Barren County Family YMCA continued to provide high-quality, state-licensed childcare and youth programs that support working families and nurture the potential of every child. Serving children ages 3 to 12, the YMCA offered a safe and enriching environment through preschool, after-school, and summer day camp programs designed to build confidence, leadership, and positive values. Each program emphasized social-emotional learning, physical activity, and character development, helping children grow in spirit, mind, and body. More than 400 children participated in YMCA childcare and camp programs this year. Financial assistance ensured that all children, regardless of family income, had equal access to quality care and opportunities for learning and fun.
