The florida 4-h legislature is a five day learning laboratory in state government designed to give participants educational experiences such as learning about the functions of state level government, becoming informed about the state system of government, serving as mock legislators, reporters or lobbyist, meeting in the committee rooms of the house of representatives as well as the senate chambers, and touring the state capital, supreme court, archives and/or other state buildings.

4-h university is a program for members from across the state focused on leadership and personal development alongside university faculty and professional leaders. Programs include competitive sessions along with educational and service learning workshops in a variety of subjects relating to academic and career exploration opportunities. Florida 4-h membership fees are $20 per child. This fee is for youth ages 8 and older (as of september 1st). $10.00 will go directly to the local county 4-h program. $10.00 will go to the state 4-h program (FL 4-h foundation) to help improve, update, and assist with state-level events, activities, competitions, and program expenses for 4-h youth. This money will also help cover the costs of things previously covered by the counties and state such as insurance and transporting youth to regional and state events. Cloverbuds (youth 4-h ages 5-7) and adults are not charged a state fee. Please do not make any payments for cloverbuds or adults at the community club membership fee payment site.
