Ballad health foundation builds relationships that fulfill the mission and vision of ballad health through philanthropy. During the fiscal year ending june 30, 2024, over 4,143 community-minded businesses and individuals made gifts that enabled the foundation to leverage the power of philanthropy to improve the overall health of the appalachian highlands. These gifts enabled the foundation to provide $2,286,158 in grants for equipment, programs, and services throughout the region.over $1.19 million was designated for niswonger children's hospital and pediatric services to include the expansion of the pediatric infusion center, and for items such as a c-arm for orthopedic surgery, pediatric scales, infant car seats, program support for our children's resource center, distraction toys for medical role play for use by our child life program, and music therapy for pediatric oncology patients.the foundation also provided $1.6 million in grants for equipment needs throughout our hospitals. This included purchasing vein finders for all 20 hospitals during nurses week, support for the expansion of the emergency department at greeneville community hospital, ed equipment needs at johnson county community hospital and radiation oncology equipment at johnson city medical center. Additionally, the foundation provided $320,359 in funding for educational programming for staff, $333,243 for our patient assistance programs, and $120,000 for team member emergency support.
