The current mission of AAGC is to foster a better understanding of the needs and capabilities of children of high potential. AAGC develops and disseminates research-based information about gifted education to the parents of the children involved, health and education professionals, and the general public. Through project bright idea, in collaboration with the north carolina department of public instruction, a statistically significant number of k-2 children, from underrepresented populations, have been identified for gifted programs in their school districts. The plan of dissolution became effective on june 30, 2023.
