Working with the five scientific societies that established the inclusive graduate education network, the ACS bridge project extended its reach in 2024 to include 45 chemical sciences departments, over 150 ACS bridge fellows, and a collection of professional development activities focused on assisting those who receive doctoral degrees in chemical sciences. Over 95 students were financially supported to attend the 2024 ACS spring/fall meetings. The second rapid fire symposium held during the ACS fall meeting highlighted research achievements of eight bridge fellows. In partnership with eli lilly, 50 ACS bridge fellows, graduate students, and posdoctoral scholars participated in the bridge career kickstarter workshop held at eli lilly headquarters in indianapolis, in. Furthermore, the bridge program extended its support to 25 students from hbcus by enabling their attendance at the ACS green chemistry & engineering conference and 25 more to participate in the national organization for the professional advancement of black chemists and chemical engineers conference. Working with 70 coordinators and almost 400 mentors, ACS project seed offered in-person and virtual summer research experiences to 371 high school students in 2024, along with a week-long virtual orientation focused on lab preparedness and professional development and weekly virtual seminars. For the 2023-2024 school year, ACS awarded 51 project seed college scholarships to alumni entering their freshman year in college. The initiative on fostering a skilled technical workforce expanded engagement of an inclusive network of stakeholders critical to the recruitment and preparation of students and potential employees using science and engineering skills in their jobs but not holding a bachelor's degree. Visits to the chemical technical professionals' website, launched in 2023, increased 88 percent. Three community college projects each received ~$20k from the ACS prepare CTP seed grant program pilot. A new discovery report "empowering chemical technical professionals" was released. Recognition, workshops, and grants were offered to students and educators. Electronic credentials were offered to over 1200 certified graduates of ACS-approved programs. A discussion series focused on undergraduate education for chairs of chemistry departments continued in 2024.
