The mission of RHC is to enhance the provision of health care including charity care in the Harrisonburg Rockingham County community RHC fulfills this goal by among other activities 1 appointing members of the board of directors of Sentara Blue Ridge Board of Directors which includes Sentara RMH Medical Center a 501c3 organization that operates an acute care hospital and 2 ensuring that Sentara Healthcare also a 501c3 organization fulfills its obligations under an affiliation agreement dated December 6 2010 pursuant to which Sentara Healthcare became sole member of Sentara RMH Medical Center
