As a supporting organization, the thomas o'neill catholic health care fund's (the fund) sole program service is to provide monetary support for its supported organizations, medstar good samaritan hospital (the hospital) and the good samaritan nursing center. Each year the fund is required to spend a minimum of 40% of its investment income on charity care for the benefit of hospital patients. During fiscal 2024, $3,213,000 was provided by the fund to support programs in areas including charity care, research, primary care, transportation and parish nurse programs.
