Education and prevention, which includes mental health promotion (MHP) and the child and youth mental health initiative (cymhio, increases public awareness about mental health issues and disseminates effective treatment and recovery strategies. Cymhi offers the public, youth, parents, teachers and other youth-serving professionals education on resilience, mental health diagnoses and suicide prevention. MHP develops and coordinates continuing education opportunities for the public, clinicians, social service workers, first responders and other helping professionals to improve their abilities to identify and respond to people with mental health issues and reduce stigma.

Advocacy and recovery services provides direct mental health services via telephone and in-person. Services are primarily delivered and managed by people with lived experience of recovery from mental illness and other challenges. These include case advocacy, establishing individual action plans, and connecting others to community-based resources, natural supports and individual strategies that support recovery.
