Mount sinai hospitals group (MSHG) was formed for the charitable, scientific and educational purposes of promoting, facilitating and enhancing the delivery of health care and related services to, and improving and enhancing the general health and well-being of, the patient populations and communities served by the mount sinai hospital, beth israel medical center, ST. Luke's roosevelt hospital center, new york eye and ear infirmary, and south nassau communities hospital (the "hospitals"). Specifically, MSHG was formed to serve as the parent company and sole member of the hospitals, for the purpose of engaging in various activities that further, support, benefit and/or carry out the charitable, educational and scientific purposes, missions, objectives, operations and activities of the hospitals, including overseeing, supervising and coordinating the missions, governance, policy making, and strategic planning for, and providing other forms of support for the benefit of the hospitals.
