The organization managed the self-insured health insurance plan (the "plan") of the university of florida and its affiliates identified below in such areas as contracting with the third party administrator and network providers, collection and payment of employer and employee premiums, fiscal accounting, claims and quality analysis, and other matters to support the orderly administration and management of the plan. During the year, the organization managed the plan for the following members of the controlled group under irc section 414: the university of florida, shands teaching hospital and clinics, shands jacksonville healthcare, the university of florida jacksonville healthcare/the university of florida jacksonville physicians, the university of florida foundation, university of florida investment corporation, and the university of florida proton therapy institute.
