Increase access to healthy food: feeding pa works with farmers and processors to increase access to healthy food for our food banks and the neighbors they serve through agricultural partnersdhips. The mid-atlantic regional cooperative partners with farmers, wholesalers and importers to distribute fresh produce to food banks across the mid-atlantic region. Fill a glass with hope is a charitable fresh milk program that raises money for food banks to purchase fresh milk from local dairies. In july 2020, feeding pa became the contractor for the pa agricultural surplus system, which invests in pa agriculture by supporting local farms, reducing food waste, and channeling nurtitious pennsylvania - grown and produced food through food banks to reach pennsylvanians experiencing hunger and food insecurity.

Nutrition education: feeding pennsylvania created a healthy pantry initiative in partnership with the pennsylvania department of health. Feeding pa's registered dietician is responsible for the program's curriculum and works in partnership with food pantries to increase inventory of health foods, make environmental changes to encourage healthy consumption, and provide nutrition information,tips, and recipes to neighbors.

We advocate for federal and state policies and programs that improve neighbors' access to food in pennsylvania. Feeding pennsylvania strives to raise awareness of the impact of hunger and food insecurity in pennsylvania and the charitable food system's role in its response.
