The united way of central missouri annual campaign funds two of the largest program services which includes 26 public charitable partner agencies, one uwcemo initiative for early childhood and community support grants for the partner agencies or other charitable organizations that meet the required criteria for eligibility and the funds will be used for one of the focus areas listed below. The board reviews the partner agency, early childhood and the community support grant applicants' purpose and needs and awards an allocation or grant based on campaign pledges. Uwcemo focuses on the following areas when making allocation and grant award decisions: education - helpng children and youth achieve their potential through prevention and intervention programs. Income - promoting financial stability and independence through programs that support self-sufficiency. Health - improving individuals health through agencies that provide services for medical, dental and mental health.

Funds were collected mostly in fy2019 due to a tornado that impacted areas of cole and miller counties and are being used to assist survivors of this disaster.

In CY 2024, the united way of central missouri in partnership with us bank coordinated a volunteer opportunity for us bank employees attending a conference hosted by us bank. This was a team building opportunity for the employees participating to engage with each other while also completing a fun and fulfilling task that provided bicycles and back to school supplies for members of the local boys and girls club. It was also an opportunity for employees to learn about the work of the united way and its partner agencies.
