More specifically, essentia health sandstone is created and organized to own, maintain, operate and conduct health care and related activities and facilities for the promotion of health within its community, including charitable care to persons unable to pay.essentia health sandstone has a critical access hospital with 25 licensed beds serving central pine county. The hospital offers emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is a certified level IV trauma center and an acute stroke ready hospital. Essentia health sandstone also provides cancer rehabilitation, physical therapy, and urgent care.essentia health sandstone employs 80 full time equivalents. The hospital provided over 1,000 hospital patient days and 15,000 outpatient visits during the fiscal year ended june 30, 2024.
