Youth Development: We strongly believe that all children equally deserve the opportunity to learn, discover and grow at our Y. Financial status, ethnicity, gender, or religion does not affect their right or access to programs and support at the Woodson YMCA. This year, over $342,000 was given to financially assist youth and families with child care, after school care, day camp, youth sports, swim lessons, gymnastic classes, karate and both swim and gymnastic teams. We remained the child care that has the highest number of children and families served in the county, which enabled those families to all work in the community while their children were safely cared for.

Healthy Living: The Y is a leading force in promoting health and wellness. We strengthen families by fostering connection, supporting healthy lifestyles, keeping people active with a wide range of workout options and bringing people together through fitness, sports, fun, educational and shared activities. As families face increasing challenges with finances, medical problems, and social issues, our Y remains a supportive space where individuals and families can continue to grow in both physical and emotional well-being. We are committed to ensuring our programs and facilities are accessible and affordable for everyone, and that no one is turned away for their inability to pay. This fiscal year alone, we provided over $540,000 in scholarships and discount for memberships, helping individuals and families gain access to the resources they need to lead healthier lives.

Social Responsibility: At our YMCA, we are committed to giving back and strengthening our community. We actively listen to and address the most pressing needs of those we serve. One example continues to be The Landing, our senior activity center, which supports the well-being of older adults by keeping them engaged in mind, body, and spirit. Over $42,000 was given in membership and program scholarships directly this year to help those utilizing The Landing. We offer a variety of programs designed to uplift individuals and foster community growth, including the LIVESTRONG program, a community garden, seasonal events, and multiple donation drives. These initiatives not only support individual members but also build a stronger, more connected community. Additionally, our dedicated volunteers, both in governance and programming, generously contribute their time and talents to help us carry out the YMCA mission and better serve our community.
