Facilitated 533 organ donors, which led to 1,119 organ transplants, each one representing new life for the recipient. Facilitated 1,960 tissue donors, whose gifts may help cancer and burn victims with reconstructive surgery and may provide mobility for others with orthopedic injuries. Organized a ceremony that paid tribute to the previous year's organ and tissue donors which included a virtual option for families that could not attend in person. Approximately 800 donor family members attended the event. Through its volunteer corps, provided 370 service hours for promoting donation. More than 206,000 new names added to the donor registry, bringing the statewide total to nearly 4.7 million residents representing 57% of the adult population in the state. Conducted 750 critical-care in-services that educated more than 15,000 health care individuals about the best practices of organ and tissue donation. Through its in-house laboratory, performed 63,000 tests on over 900 potential donors and over 1,000 out-of-state donors. The tests ensure that people receiving the transplants have the greatest chance of success.
