Some of the services provided do not generate enough profit to offset their cost. In the fiscal period ended december 31, 2024, methodist medical center of illinois admitted 13,316 patients resulting in a total of 75,803 patient days. Outpatient visits totaled 313,207 and total outpatient surgery registrations for the same period were 6,811. There were also 33,661 emergency room visits and 1,586 babies delivered. Methodist medical center also opened the trillium place young minds center which provides inpatient and outpatient counseling and psychiatry services for children and adolescents in the greater peoria area. Methodist medical center also operates methodist college, a four-year, private, not-for-profit college accredited by the higher learning commission, commission on accreditation of the council on social work education, and commision on accreditation of allied health education programs for the medical assistant certification program. Methodist college offers baccalaureate and master's opportunities in nursing, health science, and social work, bachelor's degree programs, and education opportunities for medical and nursing assistants. 485 students were enrolled during calendar year 2024. The college achieved a 96% pass rate for its baccalaureate students and 100% for its graduate students on the national council licensure (nclex) exam. Data from the national council of state boards of nursing shows the average nclex pass rate in illinois at 85%. 75% of students enter a career in their field of study within 6 months of graduation.
