The healthy families program at advocate illinois masonic medical center provides comprehensive support services to new and expecting parents. The mission of the program is to strengthen families across chicago communities through personalized home visiting services tailored to each family's unique needs. Free services through this program include bilingual prenatal education classes, community doula support, and long-term home visiting services. The program has served 46 clients and provided 317 hours of hospital support. 24/7 labor support and weekday home visits are also offered by the doula team. There is a 100% breastfeeding initiation rate with clients, with the exception of one client due to a medical condition. 19 bilingual prenatal classes were held, covering topics such as labor, birth, postpartum care, infant care, and perinatal mood disorders. Future goals include expanding the bilingual classes to 24 and adding a third doula to increase capacity to serve an additional 24 clients per year.
