Park center, INC. Is a community mental health center in indiana with offices in allen, adams, and wells counties, with additional offices in huntington and whitley counties. In 2024, 14,621 clients were served that resided in these counties, with 17,118 clients being served overall. Park center, INC.'s goal is to provide quality care and support to promote wellness and healing for patients of all ages and at every stage of recovery. At park center, INC., a comprehensive selection of services is offered in the professional setting a patient would expect, while tailoring treatments to achieve the personal care patients deserve. (see schedule o for continuation)park center, INC.'s team of licensed social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, addiction counselors, psychiatrists, physician assistants, advanced nurse practitioners, psychologists, and other staff are uniquely qualified to address behavioral health needs. Park center, INC. Offers specialized services in early childhood mental health, dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), medication assisted treatment (mat) for opioid use disorder, and intensive outpatient treatment (iop). Services are available to individuals across the lifespan. Park center, INC. Offers community-based services in allen, adams, huntington, whitley, and wells counties. These services are available based on an assessment of need. Park center, INC.'s team of therapists and caseworkers works alongside individuals in their home, school, and community environments. Park center, INC. Has a 16-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults located in allen county. This facility provides short-term stabilization, assessment, medication review and treatment planning. Prior to discharge, patients are assisted with creating plans for safety management and linkage to other less intensive services. Two bridge case managers were hired in 2024 to create a more uniform and patient-friendly process to link patients to services after discharge. In 2024, the psychiatric inpatient unit provided 4,288 patient days. Park center, INC. Has two adult group homes in which patients with mental health and substance use needs are served. In 2024, these group homes were occupied for 7,216 patient days. Park center, INC. Also has a residential addictions program at the asam 3.5 level of care for individuals, including those referred by the court system. 7,603 patient days were provided by this department in 2024.park center, INC. Utilizes hospital and court liaisons to assist consumers with higher needs. The hospital liaison provides support services to individuals at state or local psychiatric hospitals. The court liaisons collaborate with consumers, families, and the court system when the severity of symptoms requires emergency detention, involuntary commitments, and guardianship.during 2024, park center, INC. Continued improvement work for access to outpatient services by streamlining the assessment model, creating a hybrid walk-in model at the main allen county location. Park center, INC. Created increased walk-in access, monday through friday, for patients to receive crisis care and an initial assessment without waiting. Wait time for a scheduled appointment dropped from 25.73 days in january of 2024 (with little walk-in initial assessment availability) to 8.23 days in december 2024, while walk-in access in december 2024 was available same-day for most clients who walked in. Additionally, park center, INC. Continues to focus on the development of therapy groups for patients regarding mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and DBT, with over 20 different groups being offered in 2024. Another accomplishment in 2024 was the continued expansion of the mobile crisis team (sos) to 24/7 services, allowing the team to further address a wide variety of crises, including suicide. The team saw 1,142 patients in 2024.park center, INC. Has a strong commitment to supporting and enhancing the vitality of the community and invests in projects that help improve the community. A few examples in 2024 were park center, INC's. Involvement in the following activities. 1.) park center, INC. Works with the behavioral health academy, a program that incorporates training and development of local master's-level interns. Park center, INC. Was able to mentor and provide hands on experiences to create more behavioral resources for the community. Four interns were hosted at park center, INC. In 2024.2.) park center, INC. Provided QPR (question, persuade, refer), a suicide prevention training, for community stakeholders like police departments, hospitals, local organizations and many others. Over 115 people at a variety of organizations were trained at no cost to the community organizations in 2024.3.) park center, INC. Participates in both the allen county, indiana adult and youth mental health task forces, a coalition of community organizations looking to improve adult and youth mental health. As part of this, park center, INC. Co-hosted the first annual northeastern indiana youth mental health summit on may 21, 2024, and the second annual northeastern indiana adult mental health summit on october 11, 2024, with the summits advocating for and improving community mental health. Approximately 400 individuals attended the youth mental health summit, and over 500 individuals attended the adult mental health summit. Attendees included representatives from local mental health and substance use organizations, religious organizations, law enforcement, judicial representatives and others from the community. 4.) park center, INC. Works with the local homeless population to provide outreach and support through the activities of the homeless outreach team. Approximately 260 individuals were provided outreach and services through this program in 2024.5.) park center, INC. Hosted its second annual suicide walk in adams county, indiana on september 28, 2024, to support individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide and to promote mental health in the community. Approximately 200 people attended in 2024.financial policy:park center, INC. Is committed to making healthcare accessible to those who need it, regardless of their health status or ability to pay. With our financial assistance, patients can receive the parkview care they expect - no matter what medical obstacles they might face. Our financial assistance services include: 1) using fair and consistent billing and collection practices, including charitable care and financial assistance policies and a standard application process; 2) providing extended payment plan options; and 3) providing emergency care, regardless of ability to pay.community benefit: park center, INC.'s commitment to improving health and inspiring well-being extends beyond the hospital walls and throughout northeast indiana. Through parkview's community health improvement (chi) program, park center, INC. Collaborates with others inside and outside the health system who share parkview's mission and values. Funded by a percentage of parkview's net operating surplus, chi strategically reinvests dollars into community organizations and initiatives that address the greatest health needs outlined by the hospitals' most recent triennial community health needs assessment (chna). Based upon the results of the chna, park center, INC. Creates an implementation strategy that serves as an in-depth plan defining how park center, INC. Plans to address each identified health need. Park center, INC. Also engages in other activities that benefit the community beyond those identified by the chna, including grant programs that provided much-needed services, trainings offered at no cost to the community, and advocacy and awareness activities.awards and recognitions: on april 3, 2024, DR. Matthew runyan received the american psychiatric association (apa) distinguished fellow award. Runyan is the first parkview (of which park center, INC. Is a part) psychiatrist to earn the elite designation from the apa and one of only about 50 physicians in indiana to receive the title. Distinguished fellowship is awarded to outstanding psychiatrists who have made significant contributions to the profession in at least five areas: administration, teaching, scientific and scholarly publications, volunteering in mental health and medical activities of social significance, community involvement and/or clinical excellence. It is the highest membership honor bestowed by the apa.
