Discretionaryin alignment with our mission to transform our community's heartfelt intention into greater impact for good, OCCF directed its discretionary resources toward multiple initiatives including the oc veterans initiative to provide referral, transition support, health, and career advancement for veterans returning to oc; the oc opportunity initiative to help ensure that immigrants successfully integrate into the economic and civic life of our community; and the avanzar board leadership academy to equip emerging leaders for service on local nonprofit boards. In each of these initiatives, OCCF is the trusted community partner with the relationships to both assemble and leverage resources, and the capacity to facilitate stronger partnerships between nonprofits to achieve collective impact. In addition, OCCF continues to support local nonprofits through oc nonprofit central, a publicly available database of over 600 nonprofits located in or serving orange county and through our collaborative giving days supporting of a broad range of causes and community needs.

Field of interest and legacy in alignment with our commitment to faithfully steward the intentions of our donors, OCCF maintains several field of interest and legacy funds that award grants in arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services, special needs and nonprofit capacity building. Areas of focus over the past year have included a workforce development initiative to connect un- and under-employed oc residents to in-demand, middle-skills jobs, the oc social justice fund to strengthen local grassroots organizations, and the promising futures oc fund to support educational attainment for underserved youth. Total grants made through a competitive selection process from unrestricted and field of interest funds were $5,300,000.

Donor advised and scholarship funds contributions to donor advised funds (endowed and nonendowed) were $155,200,000. Grants from donor advised funds were $77,400,000. OCCF also has over 60 scholarship funds that helped more than 325 students with scholarships totaling $1,300,000, including two countywide scholarship programs: 1) the hispanic education endowment fund and 2) the avid scholarship program. Other granting totaled $1,500,000.
