Acgme international accredits sponsoring institutions and graduate medical education programs, dedicates resources to promote quality improvement of these programs, and is engaged in conferences and workshops that address areas of import in graduate medical education outside of the USA. These functions include developing, maintaining, and applying standards based on acgme domestic standards for graduate medical education, periodic peer review of institutions and programs, and provision of feedback to the accredited institutions and programs.
