We provide support to people who have been diagnosed with stomach cancer, who are undergoing genetic testing for a hereditary form of stomach cancer, who have tested positive for genetic mutation, who are preparing for total gastrectomy, or who are family members and/or caregivers of this group of people. Support is provided over the phone, by in-person visits to members of the no stomach for cancer community, and online through e-mail, online forums, and facebook. We also provide informational packets for hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC) patients to take with them to medical appointments in areas where medical knowledge about the condition is not well known. We work to educate medical professionals and the general public by speaking at various educational institutes, advocating toward expanding education about stomach cancer, and working with print and broadcast media on stories relevant to the no stomach for cancer community. We continue raising funds to be granted for stomach cancer research. During this fiscal year we held the annual no stomach for cancer worldwide walk to raise awareness for stomach cancer.
