The parkview health system, INC. Operates foundations for each of our hospitals. These nonprofit organizations provide philanthropic support for our mission of providing high quality health services to all who entrust their care to parkview. We also strive to improve the health of the communities that we serve. The parkview foundation, INC. Builds relationships that foster gift giving for the benefit of our patients and their family members, and caregivers, in the form of hospital programs, services, and equipment. These relationships are built with parkview hospital, INC. Co-workers, (see schedule o for continuation)physicians, vendors, patient families, and the community at large. The parkview foundation, INC. Is composed of a collection of corporate, foundation, and individual donors who see parkview hospital, INC., as an agent for saving and changing lives. Moreover, they view parkview foundation, INC. As a vehicle for transforming lives, providing hope, and ultimately improving the health and wellbeing of our community. In 2023, an array of needs from both parkview regional medical center (PRMC) and parkview hospital randallia were presented to the parkview foundation. The following are examples of parkview foundation, INC. Providing funding to parkview hospital, INC. For various hospital programs, services, equipment, and improvements: co-worker emergency fund: -the co-worker emergency fund assisted co-workers facing emergencies such as a health emergency, domestic violence or other life crisis. This fund provided payments for rent, utilities and addressed food insecurity by providing kroger gift cards. Parkview packnett family cancer institute: -the parkview packnett family cancer institute was able to provide basic needs to low-income cancer patients. Some examples include wigs/hats, gas cards, food bank vouchers and nutritional drinks. Women's & children's unit: -in 2023, the women's and children's unit was able to provide transportation of children and their parent to specialists for coordinated care. This was available for low-income families, or families that did not have access to transportation. -the women's and children's unit was also able to provide a mental health navigator to serve families with complex needs. -the family birthing center was provided birthing tubs for patient use.-a new incubator was provided to the nicu for babies 26-34 weeks gestation. Parkview co-worker support: -examples include mindful self compassion sessions and a holistic nursing cart. -the parkview foundation funded a new program called parkview pups. A group of co-workers and their dogs are trained to become therapy dog certified. After certification, the dogs travel with their owner around the hospitals to visit co-workers. Co-worker education & training: -co-workers were able to attend the global leadership summit that is held yearly in august. Medical education was also provided for dry needling and echo. Scholarships:-scholarships were provided to both co-workers seeking healthcare education degrees as well as to high school students. One example is the parkview sports medicine training program. Pediatrics: -established the ready to read program, children are given a book at each visit from 0-5 years old. -ronald mcdonald care mobile was provided with support to serve children throughout the community with mobile care including vaccinations.equipment: - purchase of powerloader stretcher for EMS vehicles. - purchase of point of care ultrasound equipment and training for gme students. Francine's friends mobile mammography program: -francine's friends mobile mammography program provided mammogram screenings for 391 uninsured or underinsured women. In 2023, 12 breast cancer diagnoses were made as a result of these lifesaving mammograms. Special touch fund: -the special touch fund, which focuses on patient assistance, was able to provide car seats to families in need in order to be discharged from the hospital. It also provided hotel stays for family members so they could be close to their loved one while they were patients at parkview regional medical center or parkview hospital randailia. -the medication assistance program (map) provided patients with help covering costs of prescriptions necessary for discharge. Chaplaincy fund: -provided bereavement and grief support supplies to family members after a loved one has passed including grief packets. -gas gift cards were provided to low-income patients for travel to and from appointments. Parkview hospice program: -each year, ongoing financial support is provided to parkview home health and hospice in the form of monthly support for end-of-life care programming. Funds provided by donors have been used for bereavement care, support groups, massage and music therapy and pill boxes. Parkview heart institute: -the parkview heart institute was able to provide support for the her heart program to reduce risks of heart disease. This program included support group meetings at the PRMC campus, free lab work, opportunities for physical activity and access to health experts including dieticians, physicians, and behavioral therapists.
