In february 2016, mercy suburban hospital ceased operations upon sale to prime healthcare services. The organization is currently winding down activity.prior to the sale, mercy suburban hospital of east norriton, pa delivered quality health care to montgomery county and the surrounding region for over 65 years. Mercy suburban hospital provided free care, subsidized the care of medicare and medicaid patients where the government reimbursement was below cost, and sponsored health programs and activities for the community. These programs included wellness programs, community education programs, special programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically underserved and a variety of broad community support activities. Mercy suburban hospital offered a full range of services in an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as 24 hour emergency care, surgical services, cancer care, heart and stroke care, senior behavorial health care, among many other health care services. Mercy suburban hospital was consistently recognized for clinical excellence and was proud of the many quality achievements and recognitions it had received.
