Education and student outreach hsvma focuses on providing education for veterinary professionals related to animal welfare issues. Hsvma's continuing education program includes a webinar series for veterinary professionals that focuses on animal welfare topics. During the period from january 1 to may 10, 2024, hsvma hosted two live webinars on alternatives to cat declawing and humane dog training methods. Hsvma also has approximately 40 archived webinars on animal welfare topics available for veterinary continuing education. Advocacy during the period from january 1 to may 10, 2024, hsvma mobilized approximately 600 veterinary professionals (veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary students and veterinary technician students) to actively participate in advocacy efforts in the animal welfare arena. Hsvma advocacy efforts are aided by the hsvma board of directors, the hsvma leadership council, and the hsvma state representative program which has volunteer veterinary members representing the organization in 32 states and the district of columbia.
