The glacier hills foundation was established in 2006 and is responsible for receiving and administering gifts that fund programs and projects beyond that which operations support. It does this through sensitive and professional solicitations, responsible and wise management of funds, and guaranteeing that funds are used as originally intended by the donors. Key accomplishments of the foundation:since inception of the foundation, over 1400 donors have made gifts, 300 are active within the last three years. Some representative banner projects of the foundation of late include the establishment of the wellness (cutting) garden, employee scholarships, support for the breadth of resident programs across campus, transportation services and vehicle replacement, replacement of storm-damaged trees and bushes, community paramedics program, and support for low vision residents. The foundation awards funds for programs and projects annually and through multi-year grants. The amount awarded in the last four years to projects and programs across campus that benefitted residents and colleagues averaged $535,000. Some representative programs include support for tuition for tots, life enrichment and spiritual care programs, art and music therapy, resident transportation support, art across campus programs including establishing a new creative art studio and drawing studio for residents, support for an on-campus art coordinator, equipment for wellness connection, support for colleague specialized education, support for an on-campus library and a librarian, support for a new communications program, and more.in addition to the above, the foundation has awarded 476 scholarships to colleagues since 2007 for a value of $790,708. Currently, 18 named scholarships exist within the foundation. Annually, the foundation awards approximately $50,000 in scholarships. Annually. The foundation has a planned giving program that includes the opportunity for donors to make deferred gifts in the form of charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, ira roll-overs, assignment of refundable entrance fees, and bequests.
