Career awareness:CEWD and its members engaged in a wide variety of career awareness activities in 2024. Career awareness activities are aimed at various demographics including youth and career seekers, including those from underrepresented communities. Key work in this area included:-supporting nationwide adoption of the energy and natural resources career cluster, providing onramps to expose learners to energy and associated career paths.-connecting with students through engagement with youth-focused organizations including ffa and deca, showcasing merits of industry careers.-debut of the energy careers discovery zone, a one-day event to introduce federal agencies and policymakers to energy careers helping them understand the industry and its skilling needs.-continued operation of the urban energy jobs program, offering pre-apprenticeship programs to support candidacy in registered apprenticeship programs.-partnership with unidosus to launch eleva (exito de latinos educated via apprenticeships) to expand visibility of and connections to the energy workforce.-continued development of career awareness resources to promote industry careers, making them available to industry companies for their own use. A complete resource kit of tools was offered throughout the industry for careers in energy week. CEWD also hosted a live chat event during the observance to respond to career path inquiries for those interested in energy jobs.-programming directed toward veterans to increase their awareness of energy occupations continued through CEWD's troops to energy jobs initiative.students and jobseekers can access real-time job postings from CEWD members on the get into energy jobs site: getintoenergy.jobs. All jobs from member companies are posted nightly and can be filtered based on location, job title, or key words.CEWD also launched the meet the moment campaign to support expanded career awareness activities.

Member support:CEWD continued to support information needs of the industry's workforce development leaders, publishing a workforce development maturity model to support workforce development progress.CEWD provided support to individual member companies as well as existing and new state energy workforce consortia. These consortia are the boots on the ground for implementing many of the best practices that are improving the return on workforce efforts. Member companies participated in numerous communities of practice, webinars and face to face meetings to share best practices and solutions that work.CEWD held the 19th annual summit to discuss ways that energy companies can improve their workforce development initiatives. Additional education was offered through the diversity, equity, and inclusion forum.the organization provided counsel to numerous organizations interested in learning more about the industry's workforce development priorities, providing sector-wide leadership.

Education development:CEWD scaled work associated with the energy industry fundamentals curriculum (eif 2.0), a free virtual course to help high school and post-secondary learners better understand energy and energy careers. Students who successfully complete the program earn an industry recognized credential, showcasing their interest in and aptitude for energy careers.CEWD supported companies interested in learning more about registered apprenticeship programs and also established competencies and frameworks to support educators' adoption of energy curriculum for their classrooms.
