Directed grants to charitable organizations that support children, families, the elderly, education and vunerable individuals in order to make a positive impact in the tampa bay area.florida medical clinic orlando health (fmcoh) is proud to serve not only as a leading healthcare provider across multiple counties, but also as a visible example of philanthropic leadership in our region. The foundation of caring, fmcoh's charitable arm established in 2005, extends our commitment to health and well-being far beyond clinical care by strengthening the nonprofit organizations that serve our most vulnerable neighbors. Continued on schedule o.from its beginning, the foundation of caring has been dedicated to improving lives by investing in nonprofits that provide food, shelter, healthcare access, educational opportunities, and safe environments for children and families. Unlike many medical foundations, donated funds are never used to enhance fmcoh operations; instead, every dollar is strategically reinvested in the community to maximize impact.the results are measurable and profound. To date, the foundation of caring has awarded more than $4.5 million in grants and contributed over 96,000 volunteer hours to 214 nonprofit organizations across pasco and hillsborough counties. These investments have fed hungry families, expanded programs for at-risk children, improved accessibility for individuals with disabilities, and supported safe havens for survivors of abuse.our mission is carried out through two primary avenues:competitive grants: each year, the foundation conducts a rigorous grantmaking process, carefully vetting nonprofit applicants to ensure funds directly meet urgent community needs.volunteer engagement: physicians, staff, administrators, and community partners come together through "team fmcoh" to provide hands-on service, in-kind donations, and fundraising support that amplify the impact of our nonprofit partners.the foundation of caring's strength lies in its ability to connect the healthcare community with charitable organizations that address root causes of hardship. By working together, we create meaningful, lasting change that improves quality of life for thousands of individuals and families.this commitment to service has been recognized regionally and nationally, including being named philanthropic service club of the year by the association of fundraising professionals, nature coast chapter, and a finalist for philanthropist of the year by tampa bay business & wealth magazine.as CEO joe delatorre notes, "helping patients is only a part of how fmcoh serves our community. The foundation of caring allows us to extend hope, opportunity, and solutions to those who need it most."
