Understanding and responding to mass violence: irri promotes appropriate responses to mass violence through support to local human rights and community organizations, direct advocacy, and coordination of civil society response with a particular focus on sudan. The program also studies international mechanisms for responding to mass violence and suggest how these can be altered to respond more effectively to the needs of those affected by violence.
