Operates as a supporting organization described in sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(3) of the internal revenue code.as set forth in the greater milwaukee foundation holdings, INC.'s articles of incorporation, "the corporation is organized, and shall at all times be operated, exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, and to carry out the purposes of, greater milwaukee foundation. In furtherance thereof, the corporation shall be organized and operated exclusively for, and its activities shall be limited to, such religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes as will benefit, carry out the purposes and/or perform the functions of the greater milwaukee foundation, including among such purposes, without limitation:( a ) the acquisition, disposition, holding, management, administration and/or leasing of real and personal property for the benefit and/or purposes of the greater milwaukee foundation.( b ) the disbursements of funds, including the proceeds of the disposition of property, to the greater milwaukee foundation and/or for the benefit and/or purposes of the greater milwaukee foundation.( c ) the receipt and solicitation of donations and bequests and the receipt and acceptance of real and personal property to be held for the benefit and/or purposes of the greater milwaukee foundation.( d ) the engagement or retention of employees, consultants and other personnel in connection with the holding, administration or management of real or personal property held by the corporation and/or for the benefit and/or purposes of the greater milwaukee foundation.
