Grants and agreements that support the operations and infrastructure of the public media system - see schedule o-community service grants: unrestricted general operating grants made to qualified public television and radio stations.-public broadcasting interconnection sytem: funding is utilized to maintain and modernize public television and public radio interconnection systems and to create digital infrastructure and efficiencies within the public media system. Interconnection systems are the set of technologies and operations requried to exchange content and metadata between content producers, aggregators and stations.-FEMA next generation warning system ("NGWS") includes grants from the department of homeland security for public media entities to replace and upgrade infrastructure to expand alert, warning, and interoperable communications, creating a more resilient and secure public alerting system. The program prioritizes public media stations serving underserved communities, primarily in rural and tribal areas. FEMA awarded CPB a total of $136.0 million to establish and implement the next generation warning system grant program: $40.0 million with a period of performance that runs from fiscal years 2023-2025, $56.0 million with a period of performance that runs fiscal years 2024-2026, and $40.0 million with a period of performance that runs fiscal years 2025-2027. NGWS grants are fully expensed upon contract execution. With all its future appropriations having been eliminated by congress, the corporation is unable to provide the administrative support required to manage the NGWS awards. It notified FEMA of its intent to terminate the awards effective august 15, 2025. At september 30, 2025 and 2024, unrecognized conditional contributions related to the FEMA NGWS grants totaled $125,282,039 and $88,534,033, respectively. These remaining amounts, which included de-obligations of previously executed subawards, were conditioned on incurring allowable expenditures and, therefore, will not be utilized as a result of the termination of the grant awards. -other system support represents expenses for the general support and development of the publibroadcasting system, including projects and activities that will enhance public broadcasting. Funded activities include grants to qualified public television stations to help operate their interconnection systems, grants to facilitate mergers and other operational efficiencies, music royalty fees paid on behalf of the public broadcasting system and various other system-wide activities and functions.

Department of education (ed) that supported the development of educational television and digital media targeted at preschool and early elementary school children and their families. The most recent agreement had an original performance period of october 1, 2020, through september 30, 2025. However, ed terminated the award early, effective may 2, 2025.
