Community collaboration - see schedule ocommunity collaborationwe collaborated to rally over 600 partners in our mom and baby action network to address the most critical issues facing moms and babies and convened more than 300 partners and 125 birth equity funders for our in-person summit.more than 200 local organizations reached over 3,000 people through collective impact (ci), a model for solving complex social problems. These ci activities, meetings, and conferences across the country focus efforts on key drivers and root causes of infant mortality, preterm birth, maternal mortality, and severe maternal morbidity. We also convened 28 national corporate partners, collectively investing to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.additionally, through march for babies, our flagship fundraiser that brought nearly 43,000 participants together, and year-round special events, we raised $45.1 million to improve mom and baby health.

Research and medical support - see schedule oresearch and medical supportwe innovated to uncover new treatments and extend our reach. The march of dimes prematurity research center ohio collaborative discovered an enzyme called akr1c1 that could be targeted to delay or prevent preterm birth by controlling progesterone effects. And the march of dimes innovation fund added two new companies to our portfolio: novocuff, which is developing a device to address preterm premature rupture of membranes, and seven starling, a maternal mental health company to address the most pressing maternal and infant health challenges.we also innovated how we delivered care and support to our communities. Our mom & baby mobile health centers gained two new units in new york, NY, and phoenix, az, bringing on-the-ground maternal healthcare and providing nearly 5,000 medical visits. Our nicu family support program served over 52,000 families in 70 hospitals, providing family education, staff training on patient-centered care, and an improved patient experience with the support of march of dimes experts.

Our 2024 march of dimes report card spotlighted the high preterm birth rate that earned the us a d+ for the third straight year. The release of our nowhere to go: maternity care deserts across the us 2024 report revealed that 35% of us counties are maternity care deserts. We also launched low dose, big benefits to educate providers and moms about low dose aspirin to help reduce the risk of preeclampsia and preterm birth.to ensure health professionals have the latest information to make informed decisions, we trained nearly 19,000 maternal and infant healthcare professionals, and our trusted content drew more than 6 million visits to march of dimes, providing essential guidance to healthcare teams and families in 2024.we also elevated topics like doula expansion, vaccines, and postpartum depression, contributing to 214,739 views on our it starts with mom consumer education platform. We continued to amplify our message through modcast, our research-based podcast, which had 1,935 total downloads and youtube views. And we advocated by raising our voices to champion real change. Thanks to our commitment, more than 115 bills were advocated for, with 50 signed into law. Our advocacy network increased to over 43,000 individuals willing to heed the call to take action when it was needed most.
