Youth development - all kids deserve to discover who they are and what they can achieve under the guidance of adults who care about them and believe in their potential. We see every interaction with young people as an opportunity for learning and growth. Our new york state licensed early care and education programs offered full and extended day care at three sites, hawthorne, valhalla, and white plains - include infant care, toddler care, preschool, and universal pre-k for over 750 children ages six weeks to five years old. Our universal pre-k partners with the school districts of elmsford, lakeland, mahopac, mount pleasant, north salem, pleasantville, somers, valhalla, white plains and yorktown. Our school age child care program serves more than 1600 children daily in before & after school programs in eastchester, edgemont, elmsford, mahopac, north salem, somers, valhalla, and white plains. With a focus on character development and healthy living, children participate in academic, physical, and social activities under the supervision of positive, caring role models. Our programs include homework help, social-emotional learning, healthy activities, and STEM enrichment, focusing on literacy.

Healthy living - our unwavering commitment to responding to the needs of our region remained strong in 2024. Our team continued to grow as leaders in youth development and community impact. We are proud to offer a variety of childcare and education solutions that give families peace of mind every day. Camp combe ran a successful 9-week outdoor adventure program in putnam valley, NY, making a meaningful impact on children. Immersed in nature, they experienced exploration, formed lasting friendships, and developed life skills, character, and a strong sense of belonging. Our northern westchester early learning center, located in purdys, NY, served families by offering a consistent, safe, and enriching experience for young children. Through play-based learning, interactive programming, and a focus on foundational skills, children developed cognitive abilities, language, creativity, and social-emotional competencies. In white plains, our beautiful early learning center at 148 hamilton avenue continues to thrive with strong enrollment and a robust waiting list. Thanks to the proceeds from the sale of our former building, we now offer a state-of-the-art learning environment for children ages six weeks to four years. Our longstanding upk partnership with the white plains school district continues to flourish, along with our expanded upk programming through partnerships with the somers, north salem, valhalla, pleasantville, mount pleasant, yorktown, lakeland, mahopac, and elmsford school districts. To accomodate this growth, we added two new program sites in valhalla and hawthorne, which have helped us better serve families and meet the increasing demand for early childhood education. Our after-school programs remain vital resources for families, serving children in somers, mahopac, north salem, eastchester, elmsford, and edgemont. We have also extended our after-school offerings to provide wraparound care for children enrolled in our upk programs - ensuring continuity of care and a seamless experience for families. These programs support social and emotional development, provide children with a sense of belonging, and foster positive relationships with peers and caring adults. Thorugh these transformative experiences, the YMCA plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation. Our teen leaders program empowers youth to build leadership skills, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. In addition, our youth and government program offers young people an immersive introduction to civic education and public policy - developing informed, engaged citizens ready to lead.

Social responsibility - with our doors open to all, we work daily to connect people from all backgrounds and support those who need us most. During 2024 volunteers served in various capacities, including board and committee service, facility volunteers, fundraiser / event helpers, and service project participants. By actively participating in the social responsibility endeavors, indivduals at the YMCA become agents of change, working towards and creating a more inclusive, equitable, and seniors, teens and youth, strengthen our social responsibility promotion mission.
