Youth Development: Empowering the Next GenerationAt the heart of our mission is nurturing and empowering young people. Every day, we provide a safe, supportive environment for over 1,447 children through our Before & After School Care programs across 22 sites, helping them learn, grow, and thrive.Our Summer Camp program created unforgettable experiences for 250 children, with 80 campers receiving scholarships to ensure financial barriers never stood in the way of exploration and fun. An additional 271 children stayed active and engaged during school breaks through our Schools Out Camp.The Childrens Center at the Rockland County Family Court served as a vital support for 169 families, providing drop-in child care to 521 children, ensuring a safe space while protecting young ones from exposure to difficult court proceedings.New York State Youth & Government Program: The Rockland County YMCA sponsors eight Youth & Government Clubs with 161 students in cooperation with local high schools including: North Rockland, Nyack, Pearl River, Hudson Valley P-TECH, Ramapo, Spring Valley, Tappan Zee, Clarkstown. Collectively, there are over 750 students from high schools around New York State who participate in the three-day state conference held at the Capitol in March each year where the students present bills in a committee forum at the State Capitol in Albany and then they debate them in the chambers of the NYS Senate and Assembly. This year, at the New York State Youth and Government conference in Albany, the Rockland County students made a presence in which three students were elected to the Executive Branch, eight students awarded Outstanding Delegate, one student awarded Outstanding Debater, as well as one student awarded for Outstanding Justice, two bills were awarded Outstanding Bill, and one student given the Lt. Governor Excelsior Service Awarded for recording over 200 volunteer hours. Seven students were selected to attend the CONA Conference (Conference on National Affairs) with six students selected as alternates and five students selected to attend the NJC (National Judicial Conference).Youth and Teens In Action is a year-round leadership development program based at the YMCA, designed for middle and high school students. Through this program, over 80 teens have participated in a wide range of meaningful opportunities that foster personal and social growth. From team-building workshops and leadership training to intramural sports and enrichment activities, participants build valuable life skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. The program also features hands-on learning through STEAM initiatives, community service projects, and youth-led leadership ventures, empowering teens to grow as confident, capable leaders in their communities. Through our Youth & Government program, 170 students developed civic leadership and critical thinking by engaging in real-world policy discussions, legislative debate, and advocacy.Our Youth and Sports program had 337 youth and teens participating in our sports programsincluding volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, and Basketball Rangers - building confidence, teamwork, and athletic skills.

Healthy Living: Building a Stronger, Healthier CommunityFrom teaching lifesaving swim skills to offering fitness and wellness programs for older adults, the YMCA ensures health and well-being are within reach for everyone.We delivered 480 water safety lessons and trained 110 new lifeguards, helping keep our community safe in and around water. Over 1,300 seniors stayed active and socially connected through our wellness programs and community engagement opportunities.We proudly supported a community Blood Drive that resulted in 86 donations, helping to save or improve the lives of 258 patients at local hospitals.We also served 4,748 members and 2,000 program participants, providing access to fitness, wellness, and chronic disease prevention programs that promote lifelong health and connection.

Social Responsibility: Strengthening Rockland CountyOur YMCA is built on a foundation of volunteerism, community partnerships, and inclusive outreach.In 2024, we raised over $75,000 in financial aid and scholarships, ensuring that no one was turned away due to financial hardship. Through partnerships with local businesses, schools, and organizations, we expanded our reach and provided opportunities for all.Thanks to our collaboration with Subaru, we distributed 120 winter coats to children and families in need, ensuring they stayed warm during the colder months.We were proud to be the beneficiary of the Taste of Nyack Food Crawl, where local restaurants in Nyack came together in support of the YMCA. With 150 diners participating, this delicious and community-driven event helped raise awareness and vital funds for our youth and family programs.We continue to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone belongscelebrating diversity, uplifting underserved populations, and uniting people from all walks of life.Thanks to a generous donation from LG Electronics, preschoolers received teddy bears, spreading comfort and joy to our youngest learners and future leaders.The Rockland County YMCA is not just a place its a mission in action.
